Strawberry Strudel Lite

I don’t really have sweet cravings, but I do like to have a portion-controlled taste of something sweet after supper. I started with a can of crescent roll dough and the idea to make a dessert. This take on a strudel that resulted was pretty darn tasty.

Strawberry Strudel Lite
Serves 4 or 8

1 can reduced fat crescent roll dough
8 T sugar free strawberry preserves
2 T butter, melted
1/4 cup rolled oats
2 T brown sugar blend splenda

Pop open can and unroll dough. Do not separate triangles. Press into 4 rectangles. Spread preserves across each rectangle. Fold in thirds, pressing ends lightly. Combine butter, oats and splenda. Top each roll with mixture. Bake according to package directions. Be careful not to burn the bottoms. Broil for 1 minute if necessary to finish cooking. Serves 4 as full rolls or 8 cut in half diagonally. Would be fantastic served warm with vanilla ice cream.
