What would you call this?

To those who like their food never-to-touch, do not keep reading! You’ve been warned!

Tonight for supper I had leftovers - the last of the carnitas, mashed potatoes, gravy and some buttered corn. This type of meal reminded me of my childhood and my anti-fondness for meat. The only thing missing was applesauce.

The only way my parents could get me to eat meat was to let me swirl up a combination of all the above. Am I the only kid to have every done this? Is there a name for this dreadful combination?

I believe it’s called gruel. As in Oliver Twist. And, no, I don’t want some more. :P
