Recovering from Paper Clutter

by starxlr8 on January 26, 2008

While many forms of clutter have burdened me since “growing up”, paper clutter has been my number one enemy. I know I am not alone in this battle. I feel I am a recovering addict of paper clutter, taking each day one at a time.

I’ve started a new routine of purging the previous year’s files during tax time. I spent a rocking Friday night with my new loverboy Tax Cut, so today was the day to shred shred shred. Two full cans later, my paperwork fits in one small file box.

Afterwards, I took a visual inventory of my workspace. I saw that I’ve come a long way since my early days in the adult world. I am by no means minimalist, but nearly everything has its place, including works in progress.

Below is an annotated diagram (click to enlarge).

So tell me, what can I be doing better and what are you doing to recover from paper clutter?
