A few weeks ago Ikea Hacker posted a few simple ideas for cat litter boxes. While there are many ingenious solutions for hiding the ever-unsightly kitty loo, the hallmark of a good product is easy access to the box for scooping the poo.
Well yesterday I encountered the Kitty Litter Igloo at Target for just 20 bucks. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be available online. I rushed home, changed the whole box and set up my new simple cat litter solution. This definitely has easy access – either pull the box out or just lift off the igloo. So far, Annika’s tracking has been greatly reduced.
I also think this new set up will help her aim. I can’t imagine that I’ll ever have to wash poo off this cover, like I would off a cover that snaps directly on the box. There is also a handy pouch on the side to hold the pooper scooper.
