A Brief Vacation Update
I’ve been away from home since Monday morning - now halfway through my trip. As I sit in ABQ, I wanted to reflect a little on my western expedition thus far.
A few observations:
-
Denver is flat!? I had no idea. I imagined that Denver was on top of the mountain, not next to it.
New Mexico mexican food is much different than Texas mexican food. While the endless sopapillas are just amazing, the red chile is just too spicy for this girl.
Cookies & cream is a fabulous ice cream flavor
The best times aren’t on the agenda.
I am off to beautiful California next, where I am at the mercy of many friends. I will be handed off a couple of times. Wish me luck that no one loses me!

Denver on top of a mountain?!? Yeah…I park my llama with my Sherpa valet. Good thing I keep my rock climbing gear handy so I can get to my desk…on the side of a freakin’ mountain.
I would have been happy to explain exactly how us wild Western-ers live if you’d like. No offense, but the East Coast has people who leave there!? Since they think they’re the center of the universe, I’m shocked that they venture out of their little “paradise.” Just when the rain washed them out, I guess.
Cookies and Cream is indeed heaven. Just try Blue Bell brand C&C and every bite of ice cream afterwards will be pale and wussy.
If you ever decide to come check out the flatlands that is Denver, you have a place to crash.
