More Signs of Spring

Last year, a newlywed couple of robins nested on our front porch. This year, they returned, only to find the hanging basket that housed last year’s babies was no longer there! Being ingenious little creatures, they discovered that we had a new box propped up on the back porch.

This box is one of the pieces for the new shed, scheduled to be assembled today. I hoped that no eggs had been lain yet. Well you can’t fight nature. The babies are on their way.

We opened the package of instructions for the shed and it turns out that box, the floor kit, is not needed since we have a concrete pad. Well, thank goodness! Now we can just look forward to the little chirpies. Spring is so exciting!

I have found that if you leave the Robin’s nest when they are finished with it….little red headed house wrens will move in and use it again.
