This evening, while perusing Homesick Texan, I stumbled upon a yummy-sounding recipe for homemade tomato soup. Now, I’m not sure I’ve ever had any sort of tomato soup that didn’t come from a can with a red and white label. (Made with milk, not water, please.) But this one indeed looks totally delish, so I’ve added it to my recipes-to-try list. Just 20 minutes later, I’m a still-a-blog-reading, and Karina, my favorite Gluten-Free Goddess, has this fabulous post about making a cheese sandwich.

Ok well now I’m hungry! This is the perfect combo, my holy grail of comfort foods. White bread, american slices, butter, can of tomato soup, 2% milk, saltines - 6 ingredients of pure bliss! (For reference, the combo of macaroni & cheese with fish sticks is #2.) This breakfast, dinner or supper can cure many an ill, from scraped knees to broken hearts. What is your comfort food holy grail?
