Spring Yard Work = Oh My Aching Back

Boy, spending some one-on-one time with weeds, spring’s budding greenery and mulch sure is hard on the body. It doesn’t help that I’m out of shape. (Note to self - get in better shape.)

I pulled a ton of easy weeds from this bed, mulched and added some marble stone for our sump pump drainage.

The bed around the tree didn’t need much weeding as I had mulched with leaves in the fall. I removed the leaves and added cedar mulch. The bed near the house was a different story. I removed no less than one hundred million dandelions.

The final 3 (of 4 original) stumps were removed from the back. This is real progress, but the back is still quite a disaster.

There is still hope for my black thumb - apparently I can grow onions. I found this in my hanging basket. Reminds me of Laurie’s new friend Victor.
