Last night I purchased the Brother BC-1000. I hate to admit, but it was the little leaves stitch function that sold me on it. Plus, I really wanted to join the 21st century and have a digital model. My previous machine is tucked away inside the table below. It’s a relic of the 50’s and served my grandmother well. I know it still works, but boy is that sucker heavy. My new machine is all set up next to my bed in a little sewing nook. I can unfold the table top over the bed if I need more workspace. Someday maybe I’ll have a room just for crafting.
Tada – my first project! The cover for my heating pad was wearing thin, so I replaced it with this adorable Holly Hobby fleece. I like to use the heating pad in bed as a foot warmer on cold winter nights. Annika also enjoys it and usually displaces me by the end of the night. Here she is posing for the camera.
A close-up of the Holly Hobby Relationship Rescue Pad. No more cold feet on someone’s warm thighs!

What a thrill to get a new machine! Nice first project. Just FYI…I discovered that they now sell heated mattress covers. Can you say…HEAVEN?! Just like sleeping on a heating pad for your whole body. Love it!
that is beauiful–congrats on the new machine too.
A sweet cover.
